Youth and Women Empowerment Forum

The MPI Kenya was privileged to participate in the Youth and Women Empowerment Forum which was held at KAG church in Kiamaiko. The event was a success as we saw partners from the Nairobi City Council, Technical and Vocational Training Institutions, Community Based Organizations ,financial institutions and religious leaders from the community come together to mobilize the youth and the women and enlighten them on ways to develop and transform their lives .

The youth and women were urged to take the opportunities that come up from time to time which are offered by the CBOs and the government to provide support and enable them to enroll in technical and vocational training institutions .

The forum was a platform that empowered the youth and women on:

• Ways that they can access funds as individuals or groups to enable them start businesses and transform their lives.
• Different courses offered at technical and vocational training institutions and how they can help them develop themselves and even be able to create opportunities for others in the community.
• The institutions offering foreign language studies and the importance of having that knowledge in relation to job opportunities
• The organizations that are willing to the fund the studies for vulnerable youth and women in the community so that they can enroll in technical and vocational training institutions .
• The organizations that have partnered with technical and vocational training institutions to support the youth and women to study and acquire the skills needed to develop themselves.
• How skills acquired at technical and vocational training institutions is important to someone who has just completed high school or how it can be an added advantage to someone who has or is going to pursue a degree course at the university.
