The flag off was done by the Deputy County Commissioner of Kamukunji Sub County at the headquarters and the procession proceeded to Kamukunji Grounds which has been known as the hotspot for political battles. It was a shock to many as they received different peace messages from different partners representatives that attended the occasion as follows:
⦁ ACC Kamukunji- At the DCCs Office, she introduced all the chiefs, and introduced the area chiefs of Pumwani, Eastleigh South, Shauri moyo and senior chief of Eastleigh base and Inspector Deputy Commander
⦁ DCC Kamukunji- Mr. Jack Kamau welcomed everyone in the sub-county and reiterated on the importance of IDP. He assured the participants of tight security and later flagged off.
⦁ MPI-KENYA- Michael Oyier thanked everyone for coming to the event and later shared what the organization does in a nutshell. He stated that the organization operates in Nairobi, Kisii, Nyamira and Kisumu.
⦁ National Council of NGOs- He stated that they do advocacy and policy of organizations, regulates the organizations and do trainings every Wednesday at Nyayo house on matters affecting the organization.
⦁ DFHRC- He stated that the organization creates a safe space for healing, promote mental well-being of youths through music, arts so that they can express themselves.
⦁ Dagoretti Greeners- He stated that they promote public relations through environmental activities, e.g. planting trees, clean-up activities among others.
⦁ MOYOTE- She stated that they promote the well-being of teen mothers those living with HIV and AIDS and also try to prevent spread of HIV in the community.
⦁ Utawala Stars Sports Club- She emphasized on the importance of sports in promoting peace and created awareness on different sports like Kabaddie, and Tchokball.
⦁ BSI- He stated that they do a lot on climate action, SRHR, mentorship and capacity building.
⦁ CRIME SI POA- He stated that the organization is on the forefront to curb crimes at whatever angle and that they also do mentorships, street talks and prison visits.
⦁ LPI- She stated that they do a lot of community dialogues and believe in partnership with other organization so that there can be an impact.
⦁ Vice versa Global- She stated that they are a media oriented organization and she insisted that without peace none of the SDG goals can be realized.
⦁ Ripples Favor- She stated that the organization finds fulfilment in supporting the vulnerable groups and insisted on the importance of peace.
⦁ Creative Generations- She stated that the organization does adolescent girls empowerment.
⦁ Youth Children Network Organization- He stated that the organization does youth and development program.
⦁ Bunge la mwananchi- He stated that he will endeavor to promote peace at the Jacaranda Grounds which is famously known as a hotspot for violence. He stated that he uses football as a sport in promoting peace.
⦁ Lucas Ochieng- He stated that he is a member of Mathare Sub-County Committee and that he promotes peace in Mathare which is their mandate.
